Dear Drew,
How do you cope with life on the road? Whenever I travel, I feel so discombobulated. Tell me all your secrets for making the most of it without losing your marbles.

Dear Homefry,
I totally get it. I know exactly how it feels to be in a new place and totally out of sorts. Over the years I have found that traveling with a few sentimental and easily portable items really helps me feel settled when I’m on the road. I always pack a few small framed photos of my daughters, a good book (a real book, not a Kindle or what have you), my Page-A Day calendar of inspirational quotes, and something that smells nice that reminds me of home. Then, as soon as I get to the hotel, I put everything out on the bedside table, basically recreating my nightstand. When I climb into bed at night, I’ll put whatever accessories I’d worn that day on the table as well. When I wake up, the first thing I see is this familiar scene and it just puts a smile on my face. I hope this little tip comforts you like it comforts me!
Love, Drew
